One of my absolute favorite things to make are t-shirt quilts and memory items! There’s something so special about helping to preserve precious memories. Every project is done with care, from the biggest of quilts, to cute little ornaments.
Memory Quilt Process
I receive your items. You can contact me to make an appointment to drop off your shirts or your items can be shipped to me.
I catalog, label, and photograph each item.
Using the photos, I design a digital mockup of your quilt.
I send you an image of the mockup with the quilt’s approximate dimensions and a quote for the finished project. At this point we can make changes to the design, or move onto step 5.
I prepare the shirts for sewing and start the cutting process.
Sew together the quilt top.
Sandwich together the quilt top, batting layer and backing fabric and quilt the layers together.
Square up the edges and sew on the binding.
Give the quilt it’s first wash and dry.
It’s ready for you! You can schedule a time for pick up, or it can be shipped back to you.
Memory Bears
These adorable little guys can be made using just about any garment. The bears here were made using 3 different sweaters. They stand at about 20 inches tall. They are a great project for outgrown baby clothes!
Memory Pillows
A great keepsake project. Perfect for button up shirts but can be made from a variety of garments. Also great for other textiles like curtains or tablecloths that remind you of that special someone.
Keepsake ornaments
Perfect for small garments like baby clothes, or extra pieces left after bigger projects. Also a great option if you have a single or limited garments that you’d like to transform into special keepsakes for several loved ones.
